How did she get here? How did this little girl with all this beauty and potential get
here?How did this little princess with all this promise to be anything she ever
wanted to be end up here? How did she end up being this highly educated cook,
counselor, protector, and most importantly event planner and chauffeur? She
made the choice that’s how. That little girl grew up and decided to postpone her
dream, include motherhood in the dream, or as a princess’s perogative, just
change the dream all together. She definitely chose one or the other.
Motherhood is a willing choice. Motherhood is a choice completely of the heart.
Allowing someone you have yet to meet to take over your body, as well as your
heart with gladness and sacrifice is choice. Love is the greatest motivator and
life changer. That is something that a mother has in abundance. Love does not
mind the weight gain, the sleepless nights, the rainy soccer games, or even the
intense debates. All of that is a given. Love is always there seeing the big
picture.
I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most amazing mothers because
of my agency. Today I celebrate your brilliance, your sacrifice, and your love for
your children. My heart feels the why of what you do. I know that special
heartbeat that gets up you every day. You move and live because you feel
every need of your children and are compelled to be there, no matter what it
takes. You sense their needs before they even sense them themselves. You live
this life to be right there for them.
I want to thank you so much for showing me what an amazing mother looks like.
You have shown me that she can be beautiful, strong, caring, and smart. I have
learned that a great is mom is driven, and determined to ensure the safety,
provision and joy of her children, period. All of your requests over years have
been the same. They may have been unique in presentation, but the message
has been the same. Sydney, I want help to love my children more. I want every
day to be a great day for my babies. The minute they enter the womb, the
caring, concerns, and planning for their lives begins. Momma goes to work and
she never stops even when they become adults. Momma is Momma well into the
afterlife.
Being Mommy comes so natural to all of you. You make it look like the greatest
job in the world. Maybe that is what the little princess discovered. Even though
there are so many opportunities that the world has to offer, motherhood is still
the best gig in town.
